Meet the Team

Hi - I'm Mia.
I grew up around crafts and crafting, and have been dressmaking since I was a child. I joined the RAF aged 20 and carried on making clothes, and then turned my hand to soft furnishings to personalise my accommodation. At some point I learnt to knit, but I am still attempting to master crochet.

When i was thinking about life beyond the RAF running my own business seemed like a great new challenge. 5 years later it consumes my life. Dressmaking is on hold, knitting is all samples for the shop and making beautiful soft furnishings for others is what I spend most of my days doing.

I love being part of the high street in Broseley and hope to help to keep it alive and I have such a lovely team to bring you all that we offer.
Hi - I'm Jo.
My love of sewing started with dress making in school. I developed further skills making curtains and soft furnishings and later sample shirts for M&S.
I also worked on the retail side selling fabric, haberdashery and all things crafty.
After many years in financial services I am very happy to join Handleys Stitch Interiors, working with Mia, Jane and Sarah.
I look forward to sharing my ideas and experience with the community in which I have lived for 35 years.
Hi - I'm Sarah.

I am proud to call Broseley my home.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Mia and Jo at Handleys Stitch. I just love the variety on offer in this beautiful shop and of course the fabric!!!

My great passion is crafting, with a special focus on the world of textiles. My creative interests are particularly drawn to textile art, where I explore techniques such as Appliqué and Free Motion Embroidery.
I have a background of teaching within community education, nothing gives me more joy than sharing my love of sewing with others.
Hi - I'm Jane.

I am the owner of GardeningWitch Designs where I make stylish and practical accessories and tools for the yarn crafter, including project bags, hook and needle storage solutions, stitch markers, and shawl pins.

As well as making finished products, I teach a variety of knitting and spinning workshops and have designed a small selection of knitting patterns.
I am also a qualified tech editor for knitting and crochet patterns.
I recently relocated from the flat lands of rural Bedfordshire to the Shropshire hills where I knit, spin, sew, weave, tend my garden, walk in the hills, cook and occasionally do housework when time permits.

I have known Mia for a number of years, initially interacting online. I am delighted to be able to work with Mia and the team in real life, and to pass on my skills by delivering workshops at Handleys Stitch Interiors.
